RECOMMENDED BACKGROUND: Successful completion of Stage 1 French (beginners)
COURSE CONTENT:
By the end of year 12 students should be able to communicate about school, health and issues relating to Francophone countries. They should also be able to conjugate a variety of tenses in both regular and irregular forms. Cultural aspects are woven throughout the course including a greater understanding of countries where French is the primary language. Opportunities for cultural experiences include cooking French food, attending the French Film festival or a French restaurant.
Topics covered at a Stage 2 Beginners Level are: School, Places, Health and Important Issues.
ASSESSMENT:
Students will be assessed throughout the year against the Performance Standards of SACE Stage 2. These tasks test the four macro skills of writing, reading, speaking and listening.

COMPLETION OF THIS SUBJECT LEADS TO:
The study of French language at a tertiary level. Students will also be able to use this subject in a range of other undergraduate courses. French can also provide bonus points for students to contribute towards their ATAR.
