COURSE CONTENT:
In Child Studies, you’ll learn about how children grow and develop from conception to the age of eight. You’ll discover what children need in their first years of life and how families, caregivers, and the community support their growth.
You’ll get to focus on what a newborn needs and create a thoughtful gift to meet those needs. You’ll also explore what makes nutritious food for a toddler and take a hands-on approach by preparing healthy meals. Additionally, you’ll investigate how digital technology is used in the lives of young children, looking at both the benefits and challenges.
The course promotes teamwork, creativity, and practical skills. You’ll work both individually and in groups, building your research, communication, and project management abilities.
Child Studies also encourages you to think about issues in the wider community, like children’s rights, the role of play, and how children are cared for in different families and cultures.
