COURSE CONTENT:
This course further develops an understanding of the Spanish language and culture looking to extend responses through writing, speaking, listening, and interpreting texts. In Year 9 emphasis is placed on authentic texts in Spanish to encourage collaborative and independent learning, with reference to cultural, social, and communicative interests.
Topics covered at a year 9 level are: Holidays, Biographies, Housing, weather, food, Recreation and Festivals.
Learning is enhanced and personalised through the use of software applications that enable students to consolidate and extend their knowledge.
ASSESSMENT:
Students are assessed based on the concepts, capabilities and dispositions of the South Australian curriculum.
Assessment tasks encompass a diverse range of activities, including reading comprehension, listening exercises, written assignments, and oral presentations in Spanish. Additionally, students will engage in reflective activities that compare and analyse their own cultures with those of Spanish-speaking communities, fostering a deeper intercultural awareness and appreciation.
