RECOMMENDED BACKGROUND: Successful completion of Stage 1 Japanese
COURSE CONTENT:
By the end of year 12 students should be able to communicate about a variety of topics in Japanese with some confidence. They should be able to read and write using all three Japanese scripts and have a more in-depth understanding of issues relating to Japan and its people. Opportunities for cultural excursions at a Senior level include: cooking Japanese food, attending an Anime film festival, viewing a Japanese Art Gallery exhibition or a visit to the Central Market.
ASSESSMENT:
Students will be assessed throughout the year according to the linguistic requirements outlined in the SACE Stage 2 subject outline. 70% of the grade is from school assessment and 30% will be based on the end of year exam which tests applied understanding of the four macro skills of writing, reading, speaking and listening. School assessment task types include, text production, text analysis, interaction and an in-depth study.

COMPLETION OF THIS SUBJECT LEADS TO:
The study of Japanese language at a tertiary level. Students will also be able to use this subject in a range of other undergraduate courses. Japanese can also provide bonus points for students to contribute towards their ATAR.
