RECOMMENDED BACKGROUND: Stage 1 Food and Hospitality – Creative Foods and/or Stage 1 Food and Hospitality – Food Trends
COURSE CONTENT:
In Food and Hospitality, you will get hands-on experience with cooking, food safety, and working as part of a team. You will learn how the food and hospitality industry works today and what’s changing for the future.
You will find out what affects the way food is made and served, from health and safety rules to new technology and trends in healthy eating. We will also look at bigger questions, like how food choices impact the environment and what your rights are as a consumer.
The course is practical and team-focused, so expect to be in the kitchen, solving challenges together. You will build confidence in communicating your ideas, working independently, and supporting others.
Whatever the future plan is, this subject helps you build practical, transferable skills such as teamwork, organisation, problem-solving, and communication. These skills are useful in any pathway. Whether you are interested in a career, further study, or just want to enjoy learning something hands-on, the experiences in Food and Hospitality will help you understand how your choices matter at home, at work, and in the community.
