The Year 8 Food and Fibre Technologies course will explore the captivating world of food and fibre. Upon completing this elective, students will have gained a comprehensive understanding of the impact of a healthy diet on well-being and explored the fascinating world of nutrition, unlocking the energizing benefits of balanced eating and optimal health. They will have unravelled the influences of social dynamics, ethics, technology, and sustainability on design and production, and honed practical skills in cooking and sewing, creating delectable dishes and stylish textile masterpieces. Students will have independently and safely planned, designed, and evaluated innovative products while learning effective strategies for planning, documentation, and resource management to bring their designs to life. Additionally, they will have developed skills in time management, budgeting, and resource optimisation.
