COURSE CONTENT:
Get ready to unleash your creativity and problem-solving prowess in Stage 1 Digital Technologies! This exhilarating course empowers you to create practical and innovative solutions to real-world problems that pique your interest. Through the extraction, interpretation, and modelling of real-world data sets, you’ll uncover trends and explore sustainable solutions across diverse areas like business, industry, the environment, and the community.
You will create tangible products, prototypes, or proof of concepts while learning from both successes and setbacks. The course emphasises hands-on experimentation and covers the full project lifecycle, design, coding, validation, and evaluation to deepen your understanding of computational thinking and program design. Key areas include coding, array processing, and modularisation.
Tasks and activities are designed to both challenge and motivate you, including the creation of basic and advanced Role-Playing Games (RPGs). For students planning to study Stage 2 Digital Technologies, it is strongly recommended to complete both Stage 1 Digital Technologies – Website Design and Stage 1 Digital Technologies – Game Design.
ASSESSMENT:
Students’ performance will be determined according to the subject’s Performance Standards, as outlined by the SACE Board.
