Year 9 Dance
LENGTH: One semester

COURSE CONTENT:
Students will develop a wide range of skills in technique, composition (choreography), performance and responding to dance. This course may be taken for one semester or for a full year. Each semester, students perform in a major production at a professional theatre involving costumes, lighting and other production elements. Throughout the semester, students perform for peers and undertake peer and self-assessment. Written work may include investigating and analysing dance from other cultures, times and places, safe dance practices and a personal reflection on their learning.
ASSESSMENT:
This course is assessed against the South Australian Curriculum concepts, capabilities and dispositions.
