RECOMMENDED BACKGROUND: Successful completion of Stage 1 Spanish

COURSE CONTENT:
By the end of year 12, students should be able to communicate about a variety of topics in Spanish with some confidence. They should be able to read, write and speak with confidence and have a more in-depth understanding of issues relating to Spanish-Speaking countries. Opportunities for cultural excursions at a Senior level include: cooking Spanish food, attending the Spanish film festival, viewing a Spanish Art Gallery exhibition or a visit to the Central Market.

ASSESSMENT:
Students will be assessed throughout the year according to the linguistic requirements outlined in the SACE Stage 2 subject outline. 70% of the grade is from school based assessment and 30% is based on the end of year exam which tests applied understanding of the four macro skills of writing, reading, speaking and listening.

COMPLETION OF THIS SUBJECT LEADS TO:
The study of Spanish language at a tertiary level. Students will also be able to use this subject in a range of other undergraduate courses. Spanish can also provide bonus points for students to contribute towards their ATAR.
