RECOMMENDED BACKGROUND: Successful completion of Year 10 Science.

COURSE CONTENT:
Students will deepen their knowledge of basic chemistry including looking at how molecules bond together and the different types of interactions they have with each other. This understanding will help students make connections between observations they see in the physical world and the science which can be used to explain these. Students will learn about environmental chemistry and the impacts that human activities have on our natural world. The study of chemistry will help students to make informed decisions about interacting with and modifying nature, and exploring options such as green or sustainable chemistry. Students will gain an understanding of the analytical processes that scientists use to develop new technologies and assess the composition of different materials.
