COURSE CONTENT:
This course complements Food and Hospitality A and allows students to take the course for the whole year. Students will investigate issues and trends relevant to the food and hospitality industry. Students identify factors that influence people’s food choices and the health implications of those choices. Students will develop skills in using technology and safe work practices in the preparation, storage and handling of food, complying with current health and safety legislation.
ASSESSMENT
Assessment types
1. Individual tasks – requiring an action plan (400 words), a research task (400 words) and an evaluation (400 words).
2. Group activity – involving a collaborative action plan (400 words), group practical application and an evaluation report (400 words).
3. Investigation – research project (600 words).
