COURSE CONTENT:
Year 10 Extension Science is designed for students with a strong interest in science who wish to further develop their scientific knowledge, inquiry skills and critical thinking. The course extends students beyond the Australian Curriculum and provides opportunities to explore advanced concepts across biology, chemistry and physics.
Students engage in practical investigations, collaborative problem-solving and scientific research to deepen their understanding of key scientific principles and the interconnected nature of the sciences. They explore contemporary scientific issues and innovations, examining how science contributes to solving local and global challenges. Through this process, students develop their ability to think critically, evaluate evidence, communicate scientific ideas and reflect on the role of science in society.
This course provides excellent preparation for students considering further study in senior science subjects, particularly SACE Chemistry, Biology and Physics.
