Year 8 Curriculum Overview
Compulsory Subjects
All students in Year 8 study the following South Australian Curriculum subjects:
- English (full year)
- Health and Physical Education (one semester)
- Humanities and Social Sciences [HASS] (full year)
- Languages (full year)
Year 8 Spanish
Year 8 Japanese - Mathematics (full year)
- Science (full year)
The Arts & Technologies
Two of the following 8 Arts/Technologies subjects in 10 week blocks not already studied in Year 7:
Year 8 Elective Subjects
Year 8 students choose two semester length elective subjects from the list below, in order of preference (1-2), or can choose a full year of Music Specialist.
IGNITE students must continue in Music Specialist and will study an additional two Arts subjects from the Year 7-8 Arts Rotation. For more information, follow this link to the APHS IGNITE Program.
