Student Voice and Leadership
At Aberfoyle Park High School we work to support our students to actively participate in school life and decision making. We acknowledge that students have unique perspectives on learning, teaching, and schooling.
Student Voice provides the opportunity for any student to be involved in school life, to develop leadership skills and to contribute to the school community.
Student leadership is an exciting and rewarding experience that provides opportunity for students to have an input into issues and decisions which are of concern and interest to them, their peers and the school community. Student leaders demonstrate and reflect through their actions, the school’s core values of Respect, Care and Compassion and Honesty and have exemplary behaviour with a strong community spirit and pride in our school. Students engage in school events such as Parent Information Evenings, Governing Council meetings, Open Nights and as International Ambassadors.

Work experience is available to year 10, 11 and 12 students, offering a chance to explore industries and roles. Placements typically last from a few days to a couple of weeks, depending on the case and host organisation.
At Aberfoyle Park High School, all year 10 students complete Work Experience Week, while years 11 and 12 can participate at other times to support career development and transition or as structured workplace learning/placement as part of a Flexible Industry Program.
Work experience builds skills like communication, teamwork and problem-solving while providing insight into workplace expectations. Students arrange their own placements, gaining valuable experience through business engagement and completing the agreement process.
All work experience placements must have a Workplace Learning Agreement in place, see the below information on how to complete the process.
Please click here to open the Workplace Learning Agreement Form
