Stage 1 Physical Education: Integrated Learning
SACE credits: 10 credits
Key contact: Adam Langley
Recommended background: Successful completion of Year 10 Physical Education is recommended but not required.
Course content:
This course has the following topics:
Practical exploration: Students demonstrate their understanding, development and application of ideas, knowledge, concepts and skills through at least one practical activity connected to the Physical Education Learning Area. They communicate their ideas and opinions and may collaborate with others. Students reflect on their learning, and progress in learning, with reference to the Physical Education Learning Area. The focus is on reflection on learning rather than analysis of data. At least one Practical Exploration includes a discussion in which students present evidence of their learning either in progress, or as they finalise a task, or set of tasks.
Connections: Students work collaboratively to plan, organise, and implement an activity that makes connections between the Physical Education Learning Area and the development of a capability and applies their knowledge, concepts and/or skills for a specific purpose. Students identify their individual role and responsibility in the activity and communicate their contribution. Students reflect on their learning as a result of their collaboration and consider feedback from others and their development of the selected capability.
Personal venture: Students explore an area of the Physical Education Learning Area that is of interest to them. They investigate their area of interest by identifying, exploring and communicating relevant information, concepts and ideas. Students select one capability to be developed within their personal venture and explore the link between that capability and their area of personal interest.
Assessment:
Students provide evidence of their learning through three assessments.
