In this dynamic course, you will develop the invaluable ability to identify, create, and bring to life innovative products, processes, and systems. Get ready to dive into the exciting realm of tools, materials, and systems, as you learn to use them safely and masterfully to craft remarkable furniture pieces. Explore the rich tapestry of both contemporary and historical technologies, analysing their profound impacts on society, the environment, and sustainability. Harness a wide range of cutting-edge manufacturing technologies, from state-of-the-art machines to advanced equipment and systems, to design and fabricate awe-inspiring products.

Students will complete a major project, focused on designing and manufacturing a product using timber, and applying their developing manufacturing skills and techniques. This will follow the Design Process and be documented in a detailed folio.

ASSESSMENT:
Students provide evidence of their learning through four assessment tasks, including one externally assessment component.
