Library
The Aberfoyle Park High School Library provides a range of services to support student learning, reading and research across all year levels. The library offers access to books, digital resources and study spaces that encourage independent learning, curiosity and a love of reading.
Library services may include borrowing and returning resources, research support, access to computers and online information, help with locating materials, and guidance in developing information and digital literacy skills. The library also supports classroom learning through curated resources, reading promotion and a welcoming space for study and collaboration.
The school library plays an important role in helping students become confident, capable and engaged learners.
Electronic databases available here on the Library web page are provided by the Aberfoyle Park High School and City of Onkaparinga Libraries, and can be accessed 24 hours a day by students and staff. For example the Library Catalogue can be accessed by clicking on the Catalogue icon below.
ClickView is a School supplied database allowing students to access thousands of educational curriculum based videos.
Student ID cards or other ‘One Card’ network cards are required in order to borrow items from the library or from any SA library. Students are responsible for all items borrowed against their library record and are not allowed to borrow on behalf of other students.
Electronic device loans – A limited number of laptop computers, chargers, headphones and cameras are available for loan from the library. Only ONE electronic device may be borrowed at a time. Electronic devices are to be returned by the end of school day. Electronic devices cannot be reserved.
Renewals – Students are able to request to renew the loan of an item up to a maximum of twice per year. Items may NOT be renewed if either of the following apply:
- the item is reserved for another borrower
- the student has overdue items, with or without fees being applied
Overdue items and reminder notice process – Notices of overdue items are sent as a courtesy. When an item is borrowed, the student is issued with a borrowing receipt showing details of the item(s) and the due date and therefore assumes full responsibility for the item, including return of item(s) on time.
Lost and damaged resources – Please contact the school regarding payment for lost or damaged school resources. Enquiries regarding lost or damaged SA Public Libraries resources are to be directed to the Public Library Service. Our payment options are by QKR! application or by telephoning/attending in person at the school finance office.
